Bridges and Barriers explores the limits of language in relation to depression. Many people affected describe how words cannot fully hold what they experience, leaving space for misunderstanding, isolation, and silence. The project focuses on the potential of metaphor as a way of making complex experiences visible without flattening them. Based on an anonymised survey and research, it draws on a collection of metaphorical descriptions, which I translate into photography, video, and installation.
